frequently asked questions

  • It depends on the city. Some cities only allow curb painting if it fits a specific criteria; others allow it only with a permit, while others don’t mention it at all in their ordinances. A good rule of thumb is, if you see several curb paintings already in your neighborhood, it’s most likely allowed.

  • Caravan Curbs serves all of Kings County which include Hanford, Lemoore, and Armona. We also serve Fresno, Visalia, and other surrounding towns for a travel fee to cover gas.

We reserve the right to refuse service if the area is deemed unsafe working conditions.

  • Curb painting has come a long way thanks to masters of the craft like Southern California’s Arenas Curb Appeal, San Diego Curb Doctor and others. Special and Premium services cost the way they do to account for special equipment and materials expenses that range from power tools, software, specialty printers and steady supply of stencil, kraft papers, masking tape, respirator masks, the accumulated experience of design know-how and behind-the-scenes research, design, cutting, as well as the cost of transportation and outdoor physical labor in often hazardous conditions involving exposure to toxic chemicals and silica dust. In short, there is a lot of effort behind the apparent simplicity!

  • Custom images are any images that have to be created and turned into stencils, or hand-painted.

Stock images are images that have already been created and have existing stencil files ready to cut.

  • For dirt stains, gently remove by wiping down with a microfiber cloth and water. For more difficult stains such as scuff marks, wash the surface with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh chemicals and excessive water. For tougher stains, allow the solution to sit for a few minutes before gently scrubbing and rinse thoroughly.

  • For jobs that require travel outside of Kings County, a travel fee deposit before work begins is required.

For absentee homeowners, a 50% deposit is required in advance before work starts and the rest to be paid immediately upon proof of work completion.

For all other jobs that are local and homeowner is present, payment is expected any time from once the job starts to immediately after it is finished.

  • We prefer to accept cash and Zelle, but will also accept it through Venmo, Paypal, Apple Pay, and all major credit cards through Square.

  • No, you do not have to be home.

However, someone being at the house would be helpful in case the curb painter needs an electrical outlet to connect their power tool to remove old curb paint.

Also it’s always more satisfying if the client can see the finished work presented to them by the painter.

If you plan on not being at home, please pay a 50% deposit on or before the day of the job and the remainder once you receive photos confirming the job is complete.

  • Yes! We also paint custom mailboxes as well as custom display signs. Please call or text us with your mailbox or sign request for more information.
